It will not go down as a masterpiece, but in the end the Triton College men's soccer team will take the 2-0 result over Kennedy-King College Sept. 19 at the Jorndt Athletic Complex Multi-Purpose Field.

The Trojans have won six straight games, all via shutouts after their opening season draw.

The rainy conditions did not help the play against the Statesmen (1-3) as Triton struggled to get the offense going. But the Trojans to their credit were efficient, scoring both goals on their only two shots on the goal they had the entire match.

Triton (6-0-1) got on the board off a free kick that Manuel Martinez (Larkin) curled past the Kennedy-King keeper from 30-yards out in the 27^th minute. Then the Trojans scored their final goal in the 43^rd minute when Vladimir Martinez (Leyden) snuck a shot off the hands the Statesmen goalie that rolled in.

Kennedy-King could not generate much offense themselves, which their best chance coming in the second half, a free kick from just outside the box that sailed high.

Sophomore Adam Jedrzejczyk (Oak Forest) notched a pair of saves in goal for the Trojans in earning his fifth shutout of the season.

Triton is back at home on Sept. 23, with a likely NJCAA nationally ranked showdown with Madison College, also a rematch of last years Region 4 Division II Championship game. The Wolfpack were ranked No. 11 in last week's NJCAA poll. Meanwhile, the Trojans received votes last week and with a pair of wins since are in prime position to crack the top 20 heading into the Madison game. Kick-off is set for 6:15 p.m.
