It was a successful start to the 2022-23 season for the Triton College wrestling team Nov. 5 at the Yellowjacket Open in Rochester, MN.
The Trojans had three champions and four other wrestlers place in top five in their weight classes.
Anthony Schickel at 125lbs,
Elon Rodriguez at 133lbs and
Sherman Dixon at 174lbs each won individual titles.
Jeivan Ross at 174lbs and
Curtis Ruff II at 197lbs each took home third place finishes.
Anthony Bitner at 149lbs and
Connor Svantner at 157lbs both placed fifth at their weights respectfully.
"I was happy with how we performed in our first tournament of the season," said head coach
Tim Duggan. "We still have plenty of work to do, but right now we are focused on fixing our mistakes and getting ready for the Grand View Open."
Triton will be at Grand View in Des Moines, IA on Saturday, Nov. 12.
