Tim Duggan

Tim Duggan enters his seventh season as head wrestling coach at Triton. Duggan has coached fifty-five National Qualifiers and in that group eighteen individual District Champions and eight NJCAA All-Americans. Duggan led the Trojans to back-to-back Great Lakes District and Region 4 championships in 2023 and 2024. The 2023 district title was the first for Triton in 25 years.

Duggan, along with taking home Great Lakes District Coach of the Year honors each of the past two seasons, was named National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Coach of the Year for the 2022-23 campaign.

In addition to the Trojans regional district successes, Duggan guided Triton to a second place finish at the NWCA National Duals in 2023, which was the best showing in program history at the event.

He also has coached Triton to a pair of Runner-Up finishes at Districts and four top 20 finishes at the NJCAA National Championships. Additionally, eleven individuals have earned NJCAA All-Academic honors under coach Duggan. 

Duggan is no stranger to the River Grove campus as he wrestled for the Trojans during the 1995-96 season and was a national qualifier. His opportunity at Triton earned him a NCAA Division I scholarship at Eastern Illinois University where he wrestled for three years and was a letter-winner each season.
 
Duggan, a native of Chicago’s Northwest side was a standout in his prep career at Saint Patrick High School. He was a two-time IHSA state qualifier, a four-time East Suburban Catholic all-conference selection and three-time team MVP.
 
After his collegiate career at EIU, Duggan would return to Saint Patrick as an assistant coach for the Shamrocks from 2000-2013. During his tenure, Duggan coached multiple state qualifiers, place winners and champions. In 2012, he was named IWCOA Assistant Coach of the Year. Duggan was inducted into the Shamrock Hall of Fame in 2013 for contributions both as an athlete and coach.
 
In 2014, Duggan opened the 312 Wrestling Academy in Chicago to provide year-round development for youth and high school wrestlers. Since its inception, 312 Wrestling has become one of the elite wrestling clubs in Illinois, producing numerous state qualifiers and place winners.
 
In addition to coaching at Triton, Duggan serves as a Chicago police officer. Â
