It was another big weekend for the
NJCAA No. 2 ranked Triton College wrestling team. The Trojans had seven wrestlers place including a pair of champions at the Lindenwood Open Nov. 19 in St. Charles, MO.
Arizona State University transfer
Kendall Norfleet (165lbs) won his first individual title in a Triton singlet going 5-0 on the day. Norfleet defeated Cole Nance of Bellarmine University by a 9-6 decision in the finals.
Sherman Dixon at 174 claimed his second individual crown of the early season also going 5-0. Dixon took care of Lucas Henderson of Indian Hills Community College by fall at 1:57 in the title match.
Anthony Schickel has placed in all three events so far this season after going 5-1 at 125 to take home third.
Elon Rodriguez (133lbs) and
Anthony Bitner (149) each went 4-2 to place fourth respectfully in their weight classes.
Connor Svantner went 5-1 to win the consolation championship at 157.
"Having two champs and seven total placers is a great accomplishment since we were missing two wrestlers ranked in the NJCAA Top 3," said Triton head coach
Tim Duggan. "It was a great way to finish a tough three weeks of competition heading into the Thanksgiving break."
The Trojans return to the mat Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational.
