The Triton College Athletic Department has named Ernest Radcliffe as the fourth head baseball coach in the 55-year history of the program. Radcliffe's playing and coaching career has spanned five decades. He comes to Triton after a successful 16-year run as the head varsity baseball coach at Morgan Park High School in Chicago.

"I am excited to have Ernest Radcliffe as our new head coach to carry-on the great tradition of the Triton College baseball program," said Triton Associate Vice President of Athletics Garrick Abezetian.

"I am truly honored to receive the opportunity to coach at Triton College," Radcliffe said. "I will hit the ground running to continue the tremendous success of Triton Baseball, develop our young men, move them to the next level of education and on the field become National Champions."

Radcliffe guided Morgan Park to multiple Chicago Public League (CPS) Elite Eight and Final Four appearances. He led the Mustangs to City Championships in 2014 and 2021, along with a Runner-Up finish in 2013. In 2016, he coached Morgan Park to the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) semifinals. His players succeeded on and off the field as 95 percent of them went on to college academically or received baseball scholarships.

Radcliffe was an All-American at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. In 1986, he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and three years later played for the Virginia Generals, a minor club at the time in the Kansas City Royals organization. The Atlanta Braves gave Radcliffe a spring training invite in 1990.

In addition to his high school coaching tenure, Radcliffe from 1998-2016 coached the Chicago Cubs RBI program team, winning 11 regional championships and making 11 RBI World Series appearances. He was selected three times to be the RBI programs national coach.

Radcliffe is currently the director of his Radcliffe's Youth Sports Organization whose mission is to provide the youth within the inner city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs with opportunities to develop citizenship, discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being through sports.

Earlier this year, Radcliffe was inducted into the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
