It was another successful year in the classroom for several Triton College student-athletes as 27 individuals representing seven different sports received
National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic honors for the 2022-23 academic year.
The Trojans baseball team led the way with eight of their players making the list, including a pair on the NJCAA All-Academic First Team. Both Men's soccer and softball had five student-athletes receive NJCAA academic honors followed by the wrestling and volleyball teams' with three each.
"I like to congratulate our 27 Triton College student-athletes for being recognized by the NJCAA for their accomplishments in the classroom," said Triton Associate Vice President of Athletics
Garrick Abezetian. "Their hard work and dedication is a testament in what being a quality student-athlete is all about."
Nationally, 10.267 student-athletes achieved NJCAA All-Academic honors. Student-athletes are eligible by accumulating an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2022-23 academic year. The criteria for the three NJCAA All-Academic teams are listed below:
NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
