Stanley Boateng

    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Stanley Boateng joined the Triton College men's basketball staff in August 2022 as an player development coach and an assistant coach after spending the previous three seasons at Morton College (2018-2021). At Morton College, he helped coach the program to win back-to-back conference championships and in 2019, returned to the NJCAA Division II national tournament for the first time in 10 years. During the first two years, the program compiled 41 wins, which was the most by any men’s basketball staff in Morton College program. He has also been a fixture in the Illinois high school AAU scene, helping develop the Young & Reckless program into one of the state's best and now with his work with the Mac Irvin Fire (EYBL). 
 
Boateng was born in Chicago but raised in Providence, Rhode Island. He attended Mount Pleasant High School in Rhode Island, where he led a team of mostly underclassmen to a State Championship in 2003.  Among other accolades that season, he was awarded 1st team All-Division 1-AA and All-Academic City Scholar Athlete, while being considered a top-20 player overall in the state.  After high school, and a post-graduate year at Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts, Boateng took a unique journey as he began his college basketball career.  As a freshman he attended Longwood University in Virginia before transferring to Oakton Community College, outside of Chicago, Illinois, where he was among the top 15 players in the nation in assists and top 5 in his conference in scoring, assists, steals and 3-point percentage, earning 1st team All-Conference in the Illinois Skyway Conference, 2nd Team All-Region and All-Tournament in the NJCAA Division 2 Region IV.  Afterward, he accepted a full basketball scholarship to attend the University of Missouri- St. Louis, before completing his playing career at Bellevue University in Nebraska.  In 2008, he led a talented Bellevue squad to a MCAC Conference Title, MCAC Conference Tournament Championship, #1 ranking in the final NAIA Division 2 poll, #1 seed in NAIA Division 2 National Tournament, and runner- up finish in the NAIA Division 2 National Championship Game.
 
After college, Boateng played professionally on an international tour team playing against the top teams from LBNP professional league in Mexico during a season. In 2011, Stanley started his journey in college coaching and player development. Currently, Stanley runs a training company, SBWKTS, and is one of most recognized player developmental basketball trainers in the Chicagoland area in Illinois. He continues to help and develop some of the top Chicagoland high school boy and girl players in the area.
