It was a defensive struggle between the Triton and College of DuPage women's soccer teams Sept. 16 at the Jorndt Athletic Complex Multi-Purpose Field in River Grove. The squads dealt with a steady rain most of the first half that limited the chances. However, in the second half, it was the Chaparrals that benefited off an own goal in the 57^th minute for the only tally of the match to defeat the Trojans 1-0.

For Triton (3-2-1), the result was their first loss to a Region 4 opponent this season. The Chaparrals (4-2-1) are 3-0-1 against the Trojans since Triton's last victory against their former N4C Conference rivals in 2022.

"The goal they got was an unfortunate rebound that went off of us." said Trojans head coach Francisco Estrada. "I thought we played well defensively, but when we got the ball could not generate enough good chances."

Next up for Triton will be a home date with Madison College on Sept. 23. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at the Jorndt Athletic Complex Multi-Purpose Field.
