After going the last 10 matches not scoring at more than a goal in each of those games, the Triton College women's soccer teams offense broke-out Oct. 17 at Kankakee Community College.
Unfortunately for the Trojans, the four-goal outburst was not enough in a 5-4 loss to Cavaliers (6-8-2).
Lizbeth Sanchez (Chicago Academy),
Alexa Herrera (Proviso West),
Sophie Toledo (Elmwood Park) and
Caroline Kraus (Ridgewood) scored the Triton goals. Sanchez and Herrera each had an assist along with
Mia Rodriguez (Riverside-Brookfield) and
Nayeli Rivera (Maine Leadership Academy).
The Trojans (5-7-1) are still in position to host an opening round playoff game entering the final week of the regular season. Triton will host Harper College Wednesday (Oct. 21) at 5 p.m. to close the regular season. It will also be sophomore night for the team as that group will be recognized in a postgame ceremony.
