The Triton College volleyball team delivered a dominant performance in picking up their first win of the new season in three sets over Wright College (25-7, 25-6, 25-11) Aug. 27 at the Jorndt Athletic Complex gymnasium.
 
The Trojans had an impressive .317 hitting percentage, with 24 kills, and five errors with 60 attempts as a unit, with sophomore Trinity Delboccio (Romeoville) leading the team with a .750 hitting percentage. She also notched six kills, with eight attempts without a hitting error. Kaya Podtburg (Eaton, CO) led Triton in kills with seven, along with a .417 hitting percentage. 
 
Setters Skyler DeSomer (Cary) had 8 assists, and Thea Tamondong (Niles West) finished with six assists. They each added two digs and aces apiece.
 
The Trojans' serving game was also on point, with 18 total aces along with just eight serving errors the entire match. Natasha Mendoza (Glenn, TX) and Ana Gonzalez (Proviso West) led the team with six aces each. Gonzales had a pair of scoring runs in the match, including scoring the first seven Triton points of the second set on her serve.
 
"I thought we fired on all cylinders as we did well on all aspects of the game," said Trojans assist coach Norman Kwong.  "After our loss on Tuesday, we worked on serving tough, minimizing errors, and having energy during our match vs. Wright."
 
Triton will travel to Milwaukee on Saturday (Aug. 29) for a triangular. They will have a rematch with Oakton College who spoiled the home opener earlier in the week and then play the hosts, Milwaukee Area Technical College at 2 p.m.
