The home opening crowd received a show from the Triton College women's soccer team. The Trojans jumped out of the gate fast with three early first half goals on their way to a convincing 8-0 victory over Daley College Aug. 26 at the Jorndt Athletic Complex Multi-Purpose Field to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

Alexa Herrera (Proviso West) scored a pair of goals to lead Triton. Caroline Kraus (Ridgewood), Citlali Lopez (Steinmetz), Antonella Rivera (Leyden), Sophia Rodriguez (Morton) and Mia Rodriguez (Riverside-Brookfield) all found the back of the net for the Trojans.

Triton also got another tally on an own goal late in the first half as the Trojans enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 lead at the intermission which allowed head coach Francisco Estrada to work many substitutes in the second half.

"It was complete performance by us as we played everyone, we had available," Estrada said. "We were able to keep up the good work rate on a very hot day and I think that was biggest difference, as we were able to utilize our bench to wear down Daley."

Triton looks to continue building on its best start since 2022 when they visit Oakton College on Saturday (Aug. 29) for a 10:00 a.m. kick-off.
