Triton Softball will play Waubonsee in Region 4 Tournament

The Triton College softball team will begin their postseason push in the Region 4 Division II Quarterfinal Tournament beginning Friday, May 1 at Noon. The Trojans (21-16) are the No. 6 seed in the 16-team field and will face the No. 11 seed, Waubonsee Community College (22-20). The game will be played at Black Hawk College in Moline.

Triton is one of four teams playing at Black Hawk in a double-elimination tournament format along with the host Braves who are the No. 3 seed and Elgin Community College the No. 14 seed. The team that comes out on top will return to Black Hawk the following weekend as they are the site of the Region 4 semifinals and championship games.

The Trojans won all three games against Waubonsee during the regular season, winning the most recent meeting by a 3-2 score April 22 in River Grove. The two teams also met twice in last year's regional tournament.
