The Triton College softball team will begin their postseason push in the Region 4 Division II Quarterfinals. The Trojans (28-12) are the No. 6 seed in the 16-team field and will open the playoffs Friday, May 2 at Noon against the No. 11 seed, Waubonsee Community College (26-19). The game will take place at Kankakee Community College.
Triton is one of four teams playing at Kankakee in a double-elimination tournament format along with the host Cavaliers who are the No. 3 seed and Oakton College the No. 14 seed. The team that survives the weekend will advance to the Region 4 semifinals the following weekend at Black Hawk College in Moline.
The Trojans did not face Waubonsee during the regular season as their lone scheduled meeting was rained out on April 6.
