After a slow start, the Triton men's soccer team once again showed their quick strike ability in Wednesday's Region IV Division III semifinal vs. Joliet Junior College. The Trojans had several chances in the first half, but only a 2-0 lead at the intermission to show for it. However, Triton came out strong after halftime with three tallies the first nine minutes of the second half en route to a 6-1 win over the Wolves.
The top-seeded Trojans remain perfect on the season with a 16-0 record and will host Madison College, the two seed Saturday for the Region IV Division III championship at the Multi-Purpose Field. The WolfPack (11-5) defeated Harper College 5-1 on Wednesday to set up a date with Triton. The Trojans knocked off Madison in both regular season meetings, winning 3-0 Sept. 6 in Wisconsin and a 3-1 home triumph Sept. 18.
The winner advances to the first of leg of the NJCAA District C tournament to be hosted by the Region XIII champion out of Minnesota Wednesday, Oct. 25.
