Shelby Dalton

Shelby Dalton is the newest addition to coach Ken Jurasz' staff. Dalton is a former NCAA Division I Softball Player with 20 years of pitching coach experience. Growing up in the Quad Cities, she started playing travel softball at age 11 and competed at State, Regional, and National levels. She and her teammates earned several State and Regional titles, placing in the top ten in many National Tournaments over the years.  She made the All-State team 3 years in high school, placing 2nd in the state her senior year.
 
She received a full scholarship to pitch at Eastern Kentucky University, where she won two Ohio Valley Conference titles and appeared in the NCAA tournament her freshman year.  During her college career, Dalton competed and pitched against the nation’s best talent from teams like Alabama, UCLA, Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia, Kentucky and other top Division 1 schools.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Dalton began to teach 2nd grade, coach high school softball, and teach pitching lessons. Dalton moved to Chicago in 2009 and has continued doing private pitching lessons with girls' ages 7 to 23. In addition, Dalton has worked as the main pitching instructor with several travel organizations in the Chicagoland area.  She was the Assistant Coach and Pitching Coach at Roosevelt University for 5 seasons, but left two years ago to focus more time on her own softball facility in Chicago. At The Mill Fastpitch Facility, She coaches pitching lessons, runs camps and clinics, works with other coaches, and rents out the space to area teams. 

Dalton is also a mom to nine year old twins and spends her free time with them and volunteering at their school and working on the PTA.
