Brandon Watkins

  • Title
    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Brandon Watkins comes to Triton after many years coaching at the professional and collegiate level. His coaching pedigree spans over a 15-year period including stints as a head coach, associate head coach, assistant and player development coach.  A native of the Chicagoland area, he is very familiar with the tradition of Triton basketball. Brandon attended St Joseph High School in Westchester and helped lead the Chargers to the IHSA Class AA State Title in 1999.

Watkins continued his education and playing career at Penn State University. He was a four-year letterman for the Nittany Lions from 1999 to 2003, where he was captain and all-Big Ten Honorable Mention as a senior. Watkins also was part of the Nittany Lions’ NCAA Sweet 16 run in 2001 and team leader in assists his last two years.

He went on to play overseas for 12 years and earn more accolades. Once he decided to hang up the jersey for good, Watkins wanted to give back to the game that has given him so much. That's where the coaching came in. Watkins believes he can help others get to where he's been and beyond and says coaching is a platform for him to be a servant to the young people's lives he comes in contact with. He looks forward to continuing to help others and build lifelong relationships through basketball.
