Marques Hatch

Marques Hatch is entering his fifth season as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Triton College.

Last season, Hatch led the Trojans to their first Region IV championship since 1994. Along with winning the title, he was named Region IV Coach of the Year.

During the 2019-20 campaign, Hatch guided the Trojans to a 22-10 record and a solo second place finish in Triton's final season as a member of the North Central Community College Conference (N4C). In the 2018-19 season, Hatch coached Triton to a 19-13 record. The team finished tied for second place in the N4C. It was the programs highest placing in the league since 1994.

Hatch took over the program following the departure of former head coach Kellee Robertson in 2016. In his first season in 2015-16, the Lady Trojans posted a record of 11-20. Despite the record and number of players on the squad, it was clear that the team fought hard in all the games.

Prior to coming to Triton, Marques coached for 9 years at Proviso West High School in Hillside, IL. He coached sophomore basketball for 7 years, where he laid the foundation for the program that led to (5) 20 win seasons and four conference championships. He became Varsity Head Coach in 2015 and stayed at the helm for 2 years. His last year at Proviso West, his squad posted a record of 20-9 and captured a West Suburban Silver Conference Championship. Up-tempo offense and suffocating defense became a staple of Coach Hatch and the Lady Panthers.

Hatch, a Proviso West alum, was a standout baseball and basketball player. He was an all-conference athlete in both sports and received a scholarship to play collegiate baseball at Grambling State University in Grambling, LA.

He is also a founding member of Athletic Konnection NFP. This organization provides Tutoring, Fitness training, Baseball skills instruction, Basketball skills instruction, Football skills instruction, Mentoring and Community Service. They aim to develop student athletes, sponsor and/or support community events, mentor students towards making right choices and making a positive impact on our community.

Hatch, a Broadview, Illinois native, holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Grambling State (2008).
