Rex Parker

Rex Parker enters his third season on the Triton men’s basketball staff after serving the previous two years as the Director of Basketball Operations at Indiana State University.

Prior to Indiana State, Parker spent the 2011-2013 seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Iowa Central Community College. During his time at Iowa Central, the program qualified for the national tournament, marking it the first time a team from the school had done so in over 20 years. In fact, the team advanced to the Sweet 16 of the national tournament in 2011-12.

Before his time at Iowa Central, Parker was an assistant coach at Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2010-11, where the team compiled their first winning season in seven years.
Parker began his collegiate playing career at Vincennes University for legendary head coach Dan Sparks. After a redshirt year, Parker played point guard for a trailblazer's team that posted a 26-6 record.

From Vincennes, Parker transferred to Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa where he played for three seasons. Parker was a member of a team that was league and tournament champions in one season with a 15-1 record in conference play. In another season, Loras won the league tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the national tournament.

Parker, a native of Milan, IN., received his BA in Sports Management from Loras in 2009 and his MA in Educational Leadership in 2013 from Minnesota State University-Moorhead.  Parker resides in the West Loop of Chicago.
