Despite controlling most of the game, it took some late magic for the Triton College women's soccer team to come away with a 1-0 road win Sept. 26 over Milwaukee Area Technical College.
 
The win for the Trojans (4-2-2) was their first in nearly a month when they opened the season with three straight wins. This recent stretch has been a challenge for the Triton offense, who entered the contest at MATC with just one goal in the previous four games.
 
It appeared the Trojans were headed towards their second straight scoreless draw despite several chances. Triton outshot MATC 16-5 in the match, including an 8-0 advantage on shots on goal. But the Trojans finally broke through with under two minutes to play when freshman Caroline Kraus (Ridgewood) connected on a shot on the left-hand side of the net past the Stormers keeper for the lone tally of the match.
 
"Any region game on the road is always tough and Milwaukee is a much-improved team," said Triton head coach Francisco Estrada. "We knew it wasn't going to be an easy task and for us to get the late goal to win the game, made the ride home taste much sweeter."
 
The Trojans are back home on Wednesday (Sept. 30) to host NJCAA No. 16 ranked South Suburban College. Game time is 4:30 p.m. at the Jorndt Athletic Complex Multi-Purpose Field,
