The Triton College women's soccer team put together an offensive explosion in a convincing 6-1 road win Aug. 22 at Elgin Community College in their 2026 season opener.
The Trojans scored three goals in each half and were paced by
Alexa Herrera (Proviso West) and
Caroline Kraus (Ridgewood) with two goals apiece.
Mia Rodriguez (Riverside-Brookfield) and
Sophie Toledo (Elmwood Park) recorded the other two tallies in the winning effort.
Freshman goalkeeper
Ashley Mancera (Niles North) had nine saves in her Triton debut.
"I'm proud of the effort, discipline and teamwork shown by our team," said Triton head coach
Francisco Estrada. "We'll enjoy the result, learn from it and continue to improve."
The Trojans will open the home slate on Wednesday (Aug. 26) when they entertain Daley College. Game time is 4:30 p.m. at the Jorndt Athletic Complex Multi-Purpose Field.
