The Triton College athletic department is proud to announce that 25 student-athletes, representing nine intercollegiate sports have earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic honors for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Trojans baseball and softball teams led the way with six of their players each making the list. The Triton track and men's soccer teams both had three earn NJCAA All-Academic awards followed by a pair representing men's basketball and wrestling. Women's basketball, women's soccer and volleyball each had one athlete on the list.
"Our goal as a department is to ensure that our student-athletes are students first," said Triton Associate Vice President of Athletics
Garrick Abezetian. "I am extremely proud of the Triton student-athletes recognized by the NJCAA for their accomplishments in the classroom."
Nationally, 13,915 student-athletes achieved NJCAA All-Academic honors. Student-athletes are eligible by accumulating an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2024-25 academic year. The criteria for the three NJCAA All-Academic teams are listed below:
NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
