The Triton College women's basketball team remains undefeated in Region 4 Division I play after cruising to a 75-47 win over Sauk Valley Community College Dec. 6 at the Jorndt Athletic Complex gymnasium in River Grove.
Despite their overall record of 5-8, which included losses to six teams currently ranked by the NJCAA, the Trojans have dominated Division I play in the region with a perfect 5-0 record, winning by at least 25 points in four of those games.
Against the SkyHawks (1-9), Triton jumped out a 16-4 lead after the first quarter and were never truly threatened from that point.
Sophomore guard
Jayla Rankin led the Trojans once again with 22 points and five assists.
Jada Branch finished with 15 points and eight assists.
Mariah Phelps,
Jazzmine Smith and
Charity Anderson each scored nine points. Freshman
Alivia Brown pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds for Triton.
The Trojans will go for their third straight win when they host Wright College on Tuesday (Dec. 9) for a 5 p.m. tip.
