The Triton College men's soccer team bounced back after a difficult road loss at South Suburban (Oct. 11) with consecutive home shutouts victories over Kankakee Community College Oct. 15 (4-0) and 3-0 on Oct. 18 against Bryant & Stratton (WI).
The Trojans 10-3-3 are in good position to host an opening round game in the NJCAA Region 4 Division II playoffs and depending on what happens in their final two games of the regular season against College of DuPage and Elgin, could get a first-round bye into the quarterfinals.
If Triton can play like they did over the past week, they will have a good shot to do so.
The Trojans score a pair of goals in each half to cruise to a win over Kankakee.
Emir Heto,
Giovanni Alvarez,
Kacper Kuczynski and
Akli Akkouche all found the back of the net for Triton.
Adam Jedrzejczyk recorded five saves in goal against the Cavaliers.
Three nights later, the Trojans scored all three goals in the first half around a 50-minute weather delay at halftime to knock off Bryant & Stratton. Alvarez struck for his team-leading eight goal of the season.
Mizael Arias recorded his sixth goal of the year in the win over the Bobcats. While
Emir Heto scored the final tally, his fourth goal of the season.
Jedrzejczyk had four saves in goal to earn his fourth shutout.
