The Triton College men's basketball team had little trouble in pushing their winning streak up to 11 games in an 84-45 win at Daley College Jan. 28 in Chicago.
The win streak also matches the current NJCAA Division I ranking for the 16-3 Trojans who are No. 11 in this week's poll.
After Daley (1-20) scored the opening bucket,
Dayjaun Anderson nailed the first of his six three-pointers to give Triton the lead and they never looked back.
The Trojans built the advantage to 21-4 midway through the first half en route to a commanding 44-14 lead at halftime.
Anderson's six threes led all scorers with 18 points along with five rebounds and four assists.
Triton had four other players in double-figures as
Vijay Wallace and
Matt Sullivan each finished with 12 points. Wallace added seven rebounds, five assists and a pair of blocks.
Makeer Makeer registered 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and four blocks.
Peitok Machar added 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
As a team, Triton recorded 12 blocked shots against an undersized Daley squad.
The task will get tougher for the Trojans when they host Southeastern Iowa Community College Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3pm at the Jordnt Athletic Complex gymnasium. The teams recently met in Iowa on Jan. 11 with Triton winning 72-57.
