If the Triton College men's soccer team looks to position themselves for a high seed in a very crowded Region 4 Division II playoff race, they will need take advantage of a heavy dose of home games to close out the regular season.
The Trojans began a stretch of seven of their final nine games at the George T. Jorndt Athletic Complex with a pair of shutout victories, 5-0 Sept. 23 over McHenry County College and 4-0 Sept. 27 against Daley College.
Bryan Bielma's scoring surge paced Triton (4-2-1) in each contest. The freshman out of Zion-Benton registered five of the nine Trojans goals, including a hat-trick in the first half against McHenry. Bielma added two more goals in the win over Daley.
Pablo Mancha had three assists against McHenry, helping on Bielma's first two goals and on Triton's final tally, a goal from
David Schalich in the 88
th minute.
Sophomore
Pablo Mancha added his sixth goal of the season in the victory over the Scots.
In the Daley game,
Jose Matute and
David Siwiec each found the back of the net along with Bielma.
Stanislaw Siekanski added a pair of assists.
Michael Urias recorded the shutout for the Trojans with a pair of saves.
