The Triton College women's basketball team split their two games at the Dan Hull Memorial Classic Nov. 10 and 11 at the Jordnt Athletic Complex.
After falling to Jackson College from Michigan 66-49 to open the classic Nov. 10, the Trojans bounced back with a wire-to-wire 91-49 win the next day over Spoon River College.
Triton raced out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter and were not seriously threatened by visitors from Canton, Illinois.
Against Jackson, the Trojans outside shooting was cold, not converting a single three-point field goal.
However, things changed against the Snappers as Triton buried 13 shots from beyond the arc, including seven in the first half to enjoy a comfortable 47-20 lead at the intermission.
Sophomore
Trinity Barnes led the Triton attack with 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a pair of blocks.
Center
Jordyn Coleman recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. The freshman from Indianapolis added four blocked shots.
Mya Thillet scored 14 points on 4-for-6 shooting from long range. Sophomore
Jalyn Jimenez had a solid performance with 11 points and five assists, including shooting 3-for-6 from three-point range.
The Trojans will play their five contests on the road; including a re-match of the last three Region 4 Division I title games against Highland Community College Tuesday, Nov. 14 in Freeport. Game time is 5 p.m.
