After a sluggish start to the season, the Triton College men's soccer team has found their stride at the right time. The Trojans concluded the regular season Oct. 19 at the Jordnt Athletic Complex by winning their fifth match in a row, a 4-1 triumph over Bryant & Stratton College (WI).
Triton wraps up the regular season with an overall 9-3-2 record and were an impressive 7-2 at home.
However, under the new point system implemented by the Region 4, the Trojans postseason fate will not be officially determined until the coaches meeting on Oct. 23.
Triton will open the Region 4 Division II playoffs on Saturday, Oct. 28 still uncertain if they will be home or away in a crowded Region 4 race.
The Trojans could make one last mark to help their playoff standing with the win over the Bobcats.
Paul Urban got Triton on the board with a strike from the right side from 10-yards in the seventh minute.
Bryant & Stratton (4-10-3) would tie the game going into the intermission with a goal late in the first half.
The contest settled down the early stages of the second half before the Trojans grabbed the lead for good when
Bernardo Elias scored into an open goal after a deflection off the post.
Gavin Stagg and then Urban would find the back net for the second time during the final five minutes of regulation to put the match away for Triton.
For the match, the Trojans had a decisive 20-6 advantage in shots attempted.
