The Triton College men's soccer team received their first serious challenge of the young season when the reserves from Dominican University made the short trip to River Grove Sept. 6.
The Trojans, who moved up a pair of spots to
No. 10 in the latest NJCAA Division II poll released earlier in the day had to scrap to earn a 4-1 victory over their four-year neighbors from River Forest.
Triton had to rally for the win to improve to 5-0, as they fell behind for the first time this season as Dominican stuck first seven minutes into the match to take a 1-0 lead. Then
Ronaldo Rojas drew the Trojans even with his eighth goal of the season less than two minutes later. Rojas is
ranked fourth in the nation in goals scored.
The match remained tied at the intermission and then the second half was all Triton.
The Trojans took the lead for good on a
Gabriel Schiavoni goal the 54
th minute.
Luis Aviles and
Maciej Rzadkosz added insurance tallies for Triton. Â
