The Triton College women's basketball team continued their winning ways in a 67-52 victory Dec. 8 at the Collins Center Gymnasium against the JV squad from Concordia University-Chicago.
The Trojans winners of six straight games are now 9-2 on the season.
Against the Cougars, Triton used a 7-0 run late in the first quarter to take a 19-9 lead and held the advantage steady the rest of the way.
The Trojan run got started by a
Linarys Burnett-Romero three-pointer. Then
Trinity Barnes scored the next two hoops on a steal and layup followed another driving layup off a deep pass from
Shamiyah Godfrey. Â
Barnes would lead Triton with a game-high 21 points. The freshman added 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocked shots.
Burnett-Romero and
Monraia Wilson each scored 11 points apiece.
The Trojans will travel for the second consecutive Saturday to a play a Region 24 opponent. Triton will be at Danville Area Community College Dec. 10. Game time is 1:00 p.m. Â
