The Triton College women's basketball team improved to 13-4 this season after picking up a 68-50 win over the junior varsity squad of Concordia University-Chicago Jan. 18 in River Grove.
The Trojans held the Cougars without a two-point field goal until 6:36 left in the second quarter to build a 28-8 lead and never looked back. Triton led 39-17 at halftime.
Freshman
Asia Flowers (Proviso West) led Triton with 14 points off the bench. Sophomore guard
Monraia Wilson (Hoffman Estates) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Kendra Hatley (Proviso East) finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.
The contest ended a stretch that saw the Trojans play three games in a four-day span with Triton going 2-1, including a 60-56 road victory Jan. 15 over Region 4 rival Highland Community College.
The Trojans scheduled home game Friday night with Gogebic Community College (MI) has been canceled. Triton will not be back in action until Tuesday, Jan. 25 when they host the junior varsity team of Elmhurst University. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
