The Triton College men's basketball team began their quest to defend the NJCAA Region IV Division I title with an impressive 112-68 win Feb. 27 over Truman College in a quarterfinal game played at Joliet Junior College.
The No. 23 ranked Trojans will now face Sauk Valley Community College in a regional semifinal contest Saturday at 5 p.m. in Joliet. Triton (25-6) defeated the Skyhawks in both regular season meetings Nov. 7 (83-63) in River Grove and Dec. 13 (94-70) at the William R. Bear Tournament at Highland Community College.
The Trojans controlled the game against Truman from start to finish, leading 61-38 at halftime.
Austin Richie paced Triton with 20 points on six of 12 shooting from three-point range.
David Swedura poured in 17 points on five of eight shooting from three.
Carlos Curtis finished with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists.
James Jordan was also in double-figures with 10 points.
The game vs. Sauk Valley will be streamed live by Joliet Junior College.
