he Triton College men's soccer team scored early and often in their home opener Aug. 28 in River Grove versus Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). The Stormers were no match for the No. 8 nationally ranked Trojans as Triton scored five goals within the first 15 minutes to cruise to a dominating 13-1 victory.
The Trojans, now 3-0 on the young season also used to match to get many bench players some time on the pitch as most of the starting group sat the final 65 minutes.
"It was definitely a quick," said Trojan head coach
Piotr Sliwa. "Scoring five goals 15 minutes into the game is not expected. We were able to get a lot of guys in tonight but our level of play dropped off the final 30 minutes of the first half. However we regrouped at halftime and scored eight goals in the second half."
Adan Bourge led the Triton onslaught with three goals.
Christopher Modzejewski,
Angel Ruelas and returning NJCAA All-American
Michal Szaflarski registered two goals apiece.
Fernando Alvarado,
Jakub Knurek,
Gabriel Pulido and
Alex Mezyk all found the back of the net for the Trojans.
