The Triton College women's basketball survived a serious challenge from Waubonsee Community College in their Region IV District L Quarterfinal game Feb. 26 at the Collins Center. The Lady Trojans seeded No. 4 in the tournament handed the No. 5 seeded Chiefs a 78-50 defeat the first game of the regular season in November. However, Waubonsee made the rematch much more competitive, as it took overtime for Triton to prevail 79-75.
The Lady Trojans (19-12) will face top-seed Bryant and Stratton (WI) in a Region IV semifinal, Saturday, March 2 at Waubonsee in Sugar Grove. This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools as this is just the third year the Bobcats (20-10) have competed in the NJCAA.
