The Triton College women's basketball team passed their first road challenge to begin the new season with a 68-55 win Nov. 5 at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove.
The Trojans essentially controlled the entire contest which only had two ties and four lead changes. Triton scored the first eight points of the night capped by a bucket from
Davion Watt (Independence, Miss.) with 6:38 to play in the stanza.

Waubonsee would rally to take their only lead of the night at 15-14 with 2:30 remaining in the opening quarter. The Chiefs tied the game at 18 after one quarter before the Trojans built a 31-24 halftime advantage.

However, Waubonsee would rally to even matters at 35 apiece with an 11-4 run to open the third quarter. Then the Trojans clamped down defensively and went on an 18-4 spurt over a four minute span to take a commanding 53-39 lead with two minutes left in the third.

Jaelah Crosby (Evansville, Ind.) led Triton with 18 points on six-of-12 shooting from the field.
Bethany Baldwin (Watersmeet, Mich.) filled the stat sheet with 16 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and four steals. Watt finished with 14 points and three steals. Freshman center
Dajha Cooper (Elgin) recorded 10 points and eight boards for the Trojans.

Triton will make their home debut at the annual Dan Hull Memorial Classic Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert M. Collins Center gymnasium vs. Lake Land College from Mattoon, Ill.
