Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Tames the WolfPack

The Triton College men's basketball team knows going into every North Central Community College Conference (N4C) game that they will get everyone's best shot. That was the case for most of the first half Saturday in River Grove vs. Madison College. The Trojans trailed 27-25 with seven minutes to go before halftime. But Triton exploded in a big way, ending the half on a 25-10 run and coasted from there in a 112-72 victory.

The Trojans continued their dominance at home by increasing their school record winning streak to 76 in-a-row at the Collins Center. Triton is 18-2 overall and remains in first place in the N4C with an unblemished 6-0 record, one game ahead of Milwaukee Area Tech.

Triton controlled both ends of the floor with a 62-point outburst in the second half. The Trojans quickly broke things open with a 21-3 run on the WolfPack (10-8, 4-2) the first six minutes out of halftime. Consecutive baskets from Jalen Stephens-Holmes capped the spurt as Triton built a commanding 71-40 advantage. The Trojans scored 41 points off of 20 Madison turnovers. Triton shot 54.4 percent from the field (43-79) including 47.6 percent from three-point land (10-21).

Alondes Williams led the Trojans with 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field. The sophomore was on fire from three-point range, making 6-of-8 from downtown. Najee Brown-Henderson and Jalen Shaw scored 14 points apiece. Shaw was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field. Quinlan Bennett added 12 points. My'Quion Garrett finished in double-figures for the second straight game with 11 points and three assists. Terry Durham had 11 points and five rebounds. Ralph Cruz and Stephens-Holmes ended up with nine points each.
