Da'Tasia Almon has made her presence felt after three games for the Triton women's basketball team. The sophomore transfer and Proviso East graduate nailed a game-winning three-pointer as time expired to lift the Lady Trojans to an improbable 84-83 win over Highland Community College Nov. 10 to conclude the Dan Hull Memorial Classic in River Grove.
Triton erased a 63-49 deficit entering the 4th quarter by outscoring the Cougars 35-20 the final 10 minutes. The Lady Trojans led 81-80 after missing two free throws with 10 seconds left. Marques Hatch called a timeout to advance the ball into the front court. Armari Benbow triggered the pass to Almon who freed up just enough space from her defender and got the shooter's bounce with a rainbow three from the right wing to give the Lady Trojans the victory.

Almon, who is averaging 21.7 points per game led the way with 25. Benbow, the freshman from Fenton had a huge 4th quarter, scoring 14 of her 21 in the final period. Sophomore

The Lady Trojans conclude their season opening four-game homestand by hosting Elmhust College's junior varsity team Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Collins Center gym.
