The Triton men's basketball team was in a battle after 20 minutes against N4C conference rival Joliet Junior College Wednesday night. The Trojans enjoyed a slim 35-34 edge at the intermission before putting on a 56-point outburst in the 2nd half to win going away 91-76.
Triton, ranked No. 6 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division II poll improved their record to 15-3. The Trojans are tied for first place in the N4C at 3-0 with a much improved Wright College squad.
In the win over the Wolves, Triton had four players in double-figures led by
Deonta Terrell who poured a game-high 28 points. The sophomore out of Farragut shot 8-of-15 from the field and was impressive 12-of -15 from the free throw line.
Courtese Cooper had a strong showing for the Trojans with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Alondes Williams added 14 points and
Devin Blake chipped in 11 for Triton.
The Trojans have now won 33 consecutive N4C conference games.
