It wasn't easy but the Triton men's soccer team gutted out a 2-1 victory at Joliet Junior College Sept. 27 to clinch outright the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) Championship. The Trojans ranked sixth in the latest NJCAA Division III poll released Sept. 26 remain perfect with a 12-0 overall record, 8-0 in the N4C.
Triton played short-handed without four key players who didn't make the trip due to injuries. The field conditions in Joliet provided some challenges as well. Still, the Trojans found enough to jump out to a 2-0 first half lead on goals by
Daniel Delgado and
Patryk Szatko.
The N4C title is the first for Triton since 2012. The Trojans have now won the conference in four out of the last seven years.
