The Triton men's basketball team bounced back after a tough 10-point loss the night before at NJCAA Division I ranked Southeastern Iowa Community College with an 83-72 win Friday, Dec. 8 over Region IV rival Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, IL. The Trojans split the mini road trip to improve to 8-3 on the year. The win against the Chargers was big for Triton as Sandburg entered the contest 10-2, receiving votes in the NJCAA Division II poll. The Trojans came in ranked No. 7.
Triton led 32-27 at halftime and took control of the contest with a 51-point outburst in the second half.
Sophomore
Deonta Terrell lead the Trojans with 28 points on eight-of-10 shooting from the field and a perfect eight-for-eight from the free throw line.
Devin Blake and
Meriton Bunjaku added 10 points apiece.
Issaiah Hayes and
Arman Enright-Contreras each added nine points. Enright-Contreras was three-of-six from downtown.
For the game, Triton shot 52% from the field (27-52) and dominated the glass with a 36-21 advantage over Sandburg.
