After nearly letting a late lead slip away Tuesday night in a 74-72 win at Oakton, the Triton men's basketball team bounced back with a workman like effort to defeat the College of Lake County 81-67 Saturday at the Collins Center. The visitors from Grayslake gave the Trojans their best shot the first ten minutes of a back-and-forth affair. However, Triton (5-2) clamped down defensively with a 15-3 run to open a 34-16 lead and never looked back.
The Trojans maintained the lead in the second half as Lake County (3-5) could only get as close as 11 points.
Deonta Terrell led Triton with 18 points and six rebounds,
Najee Brown-Henderson finished with 17 points and eight boards.
Corey Shepherd added 11 points, including three from long range. Guard
Issaiah Hayes dished out nine assists.
