Jameel Carter

Jameel Carter enters his second season on head coach Tim Duggan’s staff. Carter, a Chicago native was a two-time NJCAA national qualifier at 133. In 2012, he qualified for nationals while wrestling for Wright College before transferring to Triton in 2014 to qualify for nationals and at one point was ranked as high as No. 4 in the nation in his weight class.

As a high school wrestler at Uplift Academy on the Westside, Carter exceled. He was a four-time IHSA state qualifier and four-time all-city wrestler. Carter won a pair of city championships in 143 career high school wins along with finishing fourth at the 2011 IHSA state tournament.

Prior to coming back to Triton as a coach, Carter was an assistant coach at Oak Park and River Forest High School. At OPRF, Carter was on the staff of the 2016 IHSA state championship team and two state runners up squads. Carter coached multiple individual IHSA state champions and place winners who moved on to four-year colleges and universities.
