Morgan Maize-Battistoni

Morgan Maize-Battistoni begins her first season on Christina Christopher's staff. Maize-Battistoni, who recently got married in September of 2021 comes to Triton with accomplished resume both as a player and coach.

The Leyden high school graduate was named Chicago Tribune Player of the Year, consensus All-State and Max Preps All-American tied the state home run record (18) for a season and was second in the state in RBIs (77) her junior year. She led the Eagles to the Class 4A sectional final as a senior and went 29-8 from the pitching circle. Maize-Battistoni won 103 games in her four-year career and was a two-time All-State First Team selection, an all-area four years and a all-region three years. She was named to National Honor Society two years and made High Honor Roll all four years at Leyden.

After high school, Maize-Battistoni played four year for the DePaul University softball team. She was named to the 2015 and 2016 All-Big East First Team and voted the 2016 Big East Conference Player of the Year. She was also selected NFCA National Player of the Week during the 2016 season with the Blue Demons.
 
Along with playing softball. Maize-Battistoni competed in Track and Field with fifth year of eligibility at DePaul. She participated in hammer, shot put and javelin. 
 
In 2016, Maize-Battistoni graduated from DePaul with a bachelor’s degree in both sociology and psychology. She then entered the graduate program at DePaul and earned her Master’s degree in Cyber Security in 2019.

Maize-Battistoni worked as an assistant softball coach for two years at DePaul while finishing up Master’s.
