The bats are beginning to heat up for the Triton College softball team as the Trojans pounded South Suburban College in a doubleheader sweep April 2 at the Jordnt Athletic Complex in River Grove.
Triton combined in the two games for 25 hits and 11 home runs in taking care of the Bulldogs in a pair of five inning victories by scores of 9-1 and 18-9.
In the opener, the Trojans (17-15) put the game away with a six-run fifth inning.

Isabella Bruno,
Sophia Loza and
Nikke Burke all contributed with RBI's in the frame.
Bruno and Gonzalez each blasted two home runs in game one.
McKenzie Johnson picked up the win, going five innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out nine South Suburban (10-7) batters.
Game two saw more offense from both teams as Triton put a crooked number on the board in all five innings.
The Bulldogs were up 9-8 after scoring five runs in the top of the fourth inning. However, the Trojans answered back as
Angie Flores hit a two-out grand slam homer to center to give Triton the lead for good at 12-8. The home run was the first of two for the freshman from Reavis High School along with six RBI's. Flores' two-run homer ended the contest via the run-rule the next inning.
The Trojans blasted seven home runs in the game as Gonzalez and
Julianna Acevedo went deep twice.
Jessica Reuter added a three-run shot for Triton.
Weather permitting; the Trojans will have three road doubleheaders this week before returning home on Saturday, April 8 for a twin-bill with Oakton College beginning at 11 a.m.
