A four-goal performance by sophomore
America Calvario fueled the Triton College women's soccer team to a 5-0 home victory Sept. 14 over Black Hawk College.
The No. 20 ranked Trojans stayed unbeaten to up their mark to 3-0.
Triton dominated possession and got their first tally via a penalty kick from
Keiley Castellanos just four minutes into the match.
Then Calvario scored her first two goals within the next ten minutes, as the Trojans were able to rotate many of the substitutes to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Calvario would strike again in the second half with goals in the 45
th and 67
th minutes. Her four-goal outburst tied a program record for she set last season for most goals in a single-game.
"America's performance was outstanding, said assistant coach
Maciej Orlowski. "She stood out scoring the four goals, but it is a team effort and overall we played well. Once we built the lead, we were able to give a lot of players who worked hard in practice some valuable minutes."
