The fourth time was the charm for the Triton College volleyball team against the College of Lake County Oct. 26 in Grayslake. The Trojans lost the first three meetings to the Lancers in close fashion.
However, Triton put together a solid performance in four set: 25-21, 21-25, 28-26, and 25-19 victory. The win put the Trojans back over the .500 mark at 15-14 with two games remaining in the regular season.
Several Triton players contributed in the win.
Tanya DeLaRiva had 23 kills,
Melissa Schmidt finished with 30 assists.
Nakiya Ashford recorded six solo blocks.
Defensively,
Miriam Guler had a season high 45 digs.
Bailey Berger in first match back from injury ended up with 20 digs for the Trojans who have won three games in a row.
Triton swept a pair of games at their home Tri-Match Oct. 23 with a straight set win over Olive Harvey College (12-25, 10-25, 12-25) and a four-set win over Milwaukee Tech (19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-10).
